From May 16 to 19, 2024, artist Li Ruoheng participated in the 2nd Hong Kong International Cultural and Creative Expo (known as "Hong Kong ICE") with Gen Gallery. This year's expo was held at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, covering an exhibition area of 28,400 square meters, bringing together over 600 exhibitors across five main zones: Digital Creativity, Cultural Tourism Trade, Fashion Design, Intangible Cultural Heritage Crafts, and International Art and Culture.

Gen Gallery has always been committed to showcasing and promoting works by artists from different countries and generations. As one of the special supporting units of this year’s Hong Kong ICE, Gen Gallery presented the paintings of artists including Li Ruoheng, Alexander Kroll, Wang Cong, Wang Haihua, Fang Jianxi, Wang Qi, Paolo Laudisa, and Wang Yunyun at booth 11B55 in the Contemporary Art Independent Section.

At the expo, the project “Echoes, Asian Innovators: Manifesto,” organized by the Asia Art Research Institute, served as a major independent art unit and was the largest comprehensive art section of the event. It showcased over a hundred contemporary artworks by more than 50 artists from China, the UK, the US, and South Korea. The works spanned various mediums including sculpture, easel painting, light installations, and digital art video. Traditional labels and text descriptions were not used, allowing the art to return to its essence and letting visitors freely absorb the emotions conveyed by the artists.

At the Gen Gallery booth, Li Ruoheng’s representative works were on display, including the “Selling Childhood” series, “City Glow” series, and “Colombia” series. Using mixed media such as velvet, pearls, gold leaf, silver leaf, and mother-of-pearl powder, the works reflect the fusion and clash of international cultures. They are both the artist’s exploration and response to world cultures and a resonance of different civilizations in a contemporary context, creating a profound echo with the theme of the exhibition.
